Research In Motion (RIM) announced two new variants of BlackBerry Playbook in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 event in Barcelona, Spain. BlackBerry Playbook support 4G networks, thus increasing business opportunities for network providers and developers as well as extensive experience for the user.

BlackBerry PlayBook 4G

Two new variants are tablet with WiFi and WiMax, and WiFi and HSPA +. Previously, Research In Motion had confirmed earlier in the event the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011 in Las Vegas, U.S. early this year, that the BlackBerry Playbook is available in versions WiFi only or WiFi and LTE.

BlackBerry Playbook is the RIM's first product that uses BlackBerry Tablet OS with QNX platform based, a software company recently acquired. The device is seeded able to access the web-based service perfectly, because it supports an open platform and Flash.

Each product variant is now also confirmed support Bluetooth tethering, mobile hotspot, and BlackBerry Bridge which can integrate services on BlackBerry smartphones.

Google Latitude on the Apple iPhone

Android Smartphone Platform
Canalys latest survey results show that Android successfully get the first position as the world's largest smartphone platform. The survey notes that the Android-based smartphone has increased seven times to 33 million units worldwide.

The survey was conducted via distribution of Android-based smartphone during the fourth quarter of 2010 which reached 33.3 million units. While the number of Symbian smartphones are distributed only 31 million units.

Following the Android and Symbian are the iOS from Apple with 16.2 million units of smartphones, BlackBerry from Research In Motion with 14.6 million units of smartphones, and Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft with 3.1 million units of smartphones. Malibu - BlackBerry Curve
Research In Motion ready to incorporate touch screen technology into their BlackBerry Curve series. Research In Motion is rumored to be bring the BlackBerry Curve touchscreen. According to rumors, the Curve touchscreen will have concept like Strom, where the qwerty keyboard will be removed to maximize the touch screen technology. The issue, Curve series will have the name of Malibu.

Released via Engadget on Saturday (29/01/2011), BlackBerry Malibu will come with a 800 MHz Qualcomm processor. Moreover, the size of the screen will present the 3.25 inch concept of HVGA quality. BlackBerry camera resolution is rumored to be carrying the 5 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities in high definition quality. BlackBerry presents 1GB internal memory with 512 megabits of RAM.

Reportedly BlackBerry Curve - Malibu will present in mid-2011. However, there has been no official confirmation about the presence Curve touch. This fact would contradict the Research In Motion statement some time ago, where they are still comfortable to bring the BlackBerry with physical qwerty concept.
