BEIJING - A number of pirated for iTunes Store account was freely sold in giant retail site, Taobao, and enables buyers of illegally accessing credit card details to download music and other products.

Based on searches by AFP, it is known there are several shops selling iTunes accounts for 30 yuan ($ 5, 80). With that price, the buyer promised to download songs, games, movies and other products worth $ 30 through Apple's online store.

The Global Times reported, Taobao sell approximately 50 thousand illegal iTunes account with varied prices, ranging from one to 200 yuan. Further note that thousands of accounts have been sold in recent months.

For each account illegally, Taobao include a warning that they are not responsible for any items sold. Taobao also does not guarantee the authenticity of each item. In a statement Taobao claim if it had taken the steps necessary to protect their consumer rights. Taobao also asserted their ads will not be revoked unless received an official request to do so.

"Currently we have not received information from Apple or parties related to the iTunes account that says that these products violate or infringe the rules of our listing the IP of others," explained by the Taobao spokesman as quoted by Straits Times, Thursday Jan 06, 2011.
