CALIFORNIA - Automattic, the company behind the popular blogging platform, WordPress.com, it was reported in 2010 has grown to 6 million new blog from it and get a 23 billion pageviews for it's blogs.

23 billion pageviews for 2010 represents an increase 53 percent from the previous year, 2009. The latest statistics reported by The Next Web website. Similarly, as quoted by Mashable, Saturday (01/08/2011).

"Media upload level also doubled to 94.5 terabits, which consists of photographs and videos, while new posting also increase up to 110 percent, to 146 million postings for 2010," said Automattic party.

In December 2010, the founder of Automattic, Matt Mullenweg and CEO Toni Scheider, stated that their company has a total of 30 million publisher's responsible for 10 percent of websites around the world. They also stated that WordPress is visited by 300 million visitors each month.

Automattic reportedly could generate approximately US$1 billion profit per month for hosting services and premium services. This proves that Automattic has an important role in the world of web publishing.
