Android - World's Largest Smartphone Platform

Canalys latest survey results show that Android successfully get the first position as the world's largest smartphone platform. The survey notes that the Android-based smartphone has increased seven times to 33 million units worldwide.

The survey was conducted via distribution of Android-based smartphone during the fourth quarter of 2010 which reached 33.3 million units. While the number of Symbian smartphones are distributed only 31 million units.

Following the Android and Symbian are the iOS from Apple with 16.2 million units of smartphones, BlackBerry from Research In Motion with 14.6 million units of smartphones, and Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft with 3.1 million units of smartphones. Although the entire platform that increases the number of handset distribution, but only Android Smartphone Platform which increased market share.
