CALIFORNIA - Google Chrome has gone through Apple's Safari browser to become the third largest in the U.S., according to statistics in December 2010 from web analysis firm, StatCounter.

Meanwhile, market leader Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser continues to lose marketshare, nearly two percent from the previous month. The users seem to many to switch to Google Chrome which developed into a 1.55 percent and Safari, which increased by 0.24 percent. Similarly, as quoted from PC Magazine, on Thursday (01/06/2011).

Who should receive full attention in fact is Microsoft, because in Europe, Mozilla Firefox just took IE position as the most popular browser on the continent. "This is the first time IE has fallen from first position as the most popular browser on the continent," said Aodhan Cullen, CEO of StatCounter.

According to StatCounter data, global marketshare from IE dropped below 50 percent for the first time in October 2010. Meanwhile, Mozilla Firefox remains stable by being in position to two years ago.

StatCounter data taken from 15 billion page views samples per month, of which 4.9 billion of which came from the North American region. However, this study did not include IE 9 Beta. Earlier this week Microsoft claims that IE 9 Beta has been downloaded more than 20 million times.
